kitchen progress

the cabinet guys got here at 9:00 a.m. this morning and have been working hard ever since. here is a few pictures i shot of the progress so far!

this picture you see above will be turned and come out into a peninsula in the kitchen.
isn't the color GORGEOUS!?

the company is run by a man and his 2 sons and it has been in his family for over 50 years. the guys are so meticulous with everything they do and the craftsmanship is awesome! this is my refrigerator cabinet he is working on here it kind of frames it in to make it look finished off

m beautiful plate rack! i wanted one of these so bad and so excited about how it turned out!
i cant wait to put my plates in it and serve my family dinner. off a real plate! not the Costco paper plates we have been eating off of for almost 2 months!

this is the area next to the stove where i can do all my mixing and chopping. underneath there is a cookie sheet cabinet and a pots and pan one that has pull outs that i am very excited about.

the big space on the left is my pantry, i am so excited for that we didn't have a pantry at my old house and stored all the food in the garage. i love that i will be able to put my boxes in standing up unlike before where we had to put everything in side ways because most of the cabinets were too short.

my boys birthday party is tonight so i am not sure we will get my appliances in tonight but for sure by tomorrow night i should have everything in. well minus the counter tops because we are waiting to save some more cash to do those. i cant wait for that though! i can picture it now beautiful granite counter tops with a tile back splash! anyone have any suggestions on what kind of tile to do in the back splash? i want something different but not too trendy since it will need to be up forever!

  1. A plate rack? (covet, covet, covet) That color is beautiful. If I could go back and do it again, I would SO pay the upgrade for darker wood. Can't wait to see the "after" pictures. I love works in progress...

  3. Oh my goodness, I think those are the same cabinet guys Alif's parents just signed on with. What a funny coincidence!

I would totally go with subway tiles for the backsplash. They're classic and not everyone uses them.

  4. hey! the kitchen is coming along beautifully! i think something colorful for the backsplash tiles would look great in there, depending on the kind of granite of course.
