OK so i recently asked what i should do with this space, you all gave me some good ideas but then i ran into this cool hutch on Cragislist for $40! it took me a LONG time and lots of scouring to find something like this but i waited patiently and finally came across the right piece. i got it painted and some new knobs put on and posted a picture but it wasn't quite done. It really does go great in my formal living room. So here are the details:
I bought these knobs/ handles at Lowe's i think i spent about $37 but i had returned a can of paint that was like $22 so i had a store credit. they were the ONLY handles that were the right size but i was so excited because it was exactly what i wanted!!!
then i took some dollar tree frames that i had shoved in a closet and sprayed them with a coat of black spray paint, had some pictures printed at Costco for less than $2 and displayed them on the shelves.
here it is this afternoon with only stuff found around the house. i think it looks pretty good, still could use a little more pops of color but for scrounging around here doesn't look bad to me.
here is the view from my entry way! i LOVE it! the color is my favorite part. What a great place to serve some extra serving dishes and things we don't always use but i still want to keep. needs something else on the wall right? any ideas?
my view from where i blog! this is by far my favorite room in the house
