Chrstmas Wrap up

as you can tell by our pictures, we had a great Christmas. only a few mishaps

1. Jake was sick
2. Johnathan was sick
3. David was sick
4. John was getting sick!
5. and Johnathan fell on Christmas eve flat on his face on concrete and we thought he broke his nose!

other than that it really was great the kids had a great time. Christmas eve we went to Johns parents and then we stayed home all day on Christmas. it was great. so great we haven't really left the house since =) the kids are going a little stir crazy.

New years eve is tomorrow and it should be fun Johns parents and sister's and family are coming over and we will eat and play games should be fun.

I have lots of ideas for new things for the new year that I will share in the next few days. betcha cant wait?!?!?!?!?!

Why we celebrate Christmas!

in this busy season this is our real reason we celebrate. I hope you all have a blessed Christams

Days 10-15

well as you can tell I have been slacking on the posts! I have had a super busy week! this week should slow down i am going to bake at home and get ready for the holidays!

so this is what we have consisted of

day 10- chocolate dip something. we are actually doing this next week because I had a MOPS bunco, so the kids watched a Christmas special instead.

day 11- make a gingerbread house-that is still a work in progress because our frosting would not dry! it should be ready for reveal tomorrow

day 12- craft time- we made the crafts that you see in the pictures, the kids loved them I thought they were a little complicated for each to do there own but they had fun

day 13- go look at lights- we drove around local neighborhoods

day 14- read a Christmas story- I do have a picture of that I need to post, Liz read to the boys

day 15- spend the day with dad- I had a Christmas club to go to so the kids spent all day with dad which they always enjoy!

Days 6-9

well I forgot to take pictures one day

Day 6- play a game! the kids played cootie with dad which is his favorite!

Day 7 was go to see a big light display at our local zoo but it was raining so the kids watched Christmas movies instead.

Day 8- Pray for family and friends who don't know the real meaning of Christmas

Day 9- Pray for our soldiers who are fighting for our freedom and do not get to be home with there families.

I wanted to make sure to do something that could teach the kids to pray for other people and it was cool, I got to explain a lot!

Day 5!

Day 5 was to make some cards to send to someone, each of the kids stamped there cards and they turned out great!

we have been doing our countdown to Christmas I just cant find the cord to the camera... so as soon as I do details will be coming..... I know you can barely wait =)

Day 4

turn on the christmas music and dance! and they loved it! Johnathan did not particapate, he got in trouble for not listening so he was laying down already

Day 3....

well yesterday was day 3 of our countdown to christmas, and the activity was drink hot choclate and watch a Chrsistmas movie. We watched a Charlie Brown Christmas! FUN TIMES BY ALL!

Day 2- Paint your Windows!

so tonight we painted the windows, John helped the boys and I helped Liz and we had a little contest, it was a tie (go figure!) the kids did great, and had SOOO much fun! this will wash off with just warm water too!

Day 1 was to make a christmas wish list! have i told you I have not begun shopping yet?!?!!?

Countdown to Christmas!

so I made my countdown to christmas rings! we will do one activity a day until Christmas, I love stuff like this! stay tuned for all the daily activities!

Why not both!?!?!?!?

OK so I was thinking about Christmas and how funny it is that people have such a black and white view when it comes to Santa, like if I do the whole Santa thing my kids are not going to believe in Jesus because I lied about Santa WHAT???? I don't get it!

this is just how I feel.........

what is so wrong with wanting them to believe in Santa I truly don't believe I am doing anything detrimental to there souls. Now I don't care if you do Santa or not so please if you tell your kids the "truth" tell them not to ruin the fun for the rest of us who are having FUN! also i think that if my kids grow up and find out the truth and then question the existence of Jesus because of it i am not teaching and showing my kids a true and living God who lives with us all the time not just during Christmas.

I have read this several times on other blogs so I thought I would give my opinion.

Santa is such a small part of our Christmas but it is a part, he leaves reindeer food in the fireplace and eats all the cookies and brings a small gift, but isn't the reason we celebrate. sooooooooo cant we all just get a long?!?!?!

oh yeah here is the proof!

Just in case you didnt believe me, we have 4 trees in the house this year, this big one, a 4 foot one, a 2 foot one and Liz has a 2 foot one in her room.I LOVE christmas!!!!!!!

Black Friday

I think i am getting old... I used to be at the mall when it opened fighting the crowds all morning and shopping all day. not this year I had no desire to do that, could be that my car was in the hop and going to cost a million dollars to fix =) not really but it was in the back of my mind, luckily my dear friend Rossie's hubby is a mechanic and he is fabulous and fixed my car for much less than what John expected (I had no expectations) anyhow back to the sales. so Liz and I got up at 4:30 and went to Michael's, target and a department store to get a few things. we were only gone a couple of hours and didn't get too much, really all the crowds made me want to wait until next week and pay $5 more and buy the stuff on sale.

but we did decorate the house! we are done inside and out!!!! can you believe it, we also laid by the fire and watched Christmas movies and ate leftovers it was a good day, I think this will be the tradition from now on =)

we had a great day the family came over here and we ate and ate and ate! then we had desert! we laughed and talked and played electronic catch phrase the music edition it was good times!
